When did you first start to sing?
I first started to sing as soon as I could talk at the age of 3.
Do you have any formal singing training?
I spent a couple of years at a performing arts school in Las Vegas and took vocal classes there.
What other talents do you have?
Well, I don’t really have any other talents but I consider myself a jack of all trades. You name it I can do it.
If you don’t make it on AMERICAN IDOL, what will you do?
If I didn’t make it I would definitely go back home, but I would take a chance writing songs for artists.
What are your personal goals in life?
My goals in life are to work hard, give my all and never give up. If I do all of those things I’ll be happy with what I’ve done.
What album would your friends be surprised you own?
One CD that people wouldn’t believe I have is…Tenacious D.
What is the first CD you ever bought?
The first CD I ever bought was LL Cool J, the album was “I’m Bad”.
What is in your CD player right now?
In my car right now I’m listening to the best of Stevie Wonder, and at home I’m listening to Glenn Lewis.
Who is your AMERICAN IDOL?
We’re all idols. It took a lot for us all to get here, so we’re all idols.
What is your favorite type of music?
My favorite type of music would have to be R&B, but I love the edge of hip hop.
What is your favorite song to sing?
My favorite song to sing is “SUGA MAMA “ by Thicke.
Favorite male pop artist?
I give a lot of respect to Justin Timberlake.
Favorite female pop artist?
There’s only one, my girl, Ms. Knowles. What’s up, Jigga?
Favorite album of all time?
The CD that I call my favorite is entitled “CHEERS 2 U” by a group named PLAYA.
Who in the music world do you think your style is most like?
I really can’t narrow it down to one. I borrow from the best, whoever it is.
Most embarrassing moment?
While I was in junior high I played for the school basketball team and once in a game I was on the bench and my team was down. My coach puts me in to score some quick points and instead I make a basket for the other team. I still scored though.
If you couldn’t sing, which talent would you most like to have?
Artistry, I would love to paint or draw.
What has been your proudest moment in life so far?
That would be this, making it this far.
What is your definition of an AMERICAN IDOL?
My idea of an American Idol is someone who’s well-rounded, loves to perform, has a warmness that people can relate to and is a hard worker. That sounds like me, huh?
Why do you want to be an AMERICAN IDOL?
I want to be the next American Idol to share my gift with the world.
Who is your favorite judge and why?
My favorite would have to be Paula because we both dance and have a passion to perform.
Who is your least favorite judge and why?
Well, everybody’s there for a reason but if I had to pick I would say Simon.
What advice do you have for other hopefuls?
Stay true to yourself, enjoy yourself, let go, have fun and never forget your roots.
What would people be surprised to learn about you?
Most people would be surprised to know that I’m a family man.
