I don't ever remember not singing.

Do you have any formal singing training?

Yes. I graduated with a bachelor's of music degree with a concentration in vocal performance from Fisk University.

What other talents do you have?

Acting.

If you don't make it on AMERICAN IDOL, what will you do?

I sing for a living now and love it! I would just continue doing what I love to do.

What are your personal goals in life?

To meet and be on Oprah!

What album would your friends be surprised you own?

Avril Lavigne's "Under My Skin".

Who is your AMERICAN IDOL?

An author and speaker named Beth Moore. She inspires me to live more like Jesus and I want to do the same.

Do you have any rituals or things you do each time you perform?

I pray and vocalize.

Most embarassing moments?

It's such a long story, but the condensed version is that I was scheduled to do a little set at a local coffee shop. I practiced so hard the day before that I lost my voice on stage in the middle of "You Give Good Love." I had to cancel my concert and send everyone home.

What has been your proudest moment in life so far?

Making it to the top 24 of American Idol.

If you couldn't sing, which talent would you most like to have?

I would love to be an annointed and effective Bible teacher.

What is your definition of an AMERICAN IDOL?

Someone that can be looked up to on stage and off.

Who is your favorite judge and why?

Hmmm...that's hard! My answer has changed recently but I have to go with Paula. She is a light among what can be a very dark situation.

What would people be surprised to learn about you?

That I sucked my thumb until I was 24! Praise God that my teeth do not reach Budapest!

How has this changed your life?

Everyone knows me now.

No.

Who are your heroes in life?

Jesus is my hero. He saved my life.

What's been your toughest obstacle in life?

My battle with weight has been the biggest struggle of my life. But I am overcoming day by day and will be victorious.

Do you think the audition process was fair?

I believe it was fair. However, there were some amazing people that were cut early on. I can't reconcile that in my mind.

Jesus! He's so good to me.
